Associate Professor Yin Bo of Beijing Normal University Law School attended the seminar on "The Construction of High-quality Legal Talent Team with Legal Professional Ethics and Great Moral" on August 20, 2021, which was jointly organized by School of Law of China University of Political Science and Law, Research Center of Lawyers, Research and Evaluation Center of Legal Education, Legal Professional Ethics Education Alliance and Yingke Law Firm. More than 190 experts from Peking University, China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing Normal University, Hunan University, Jilin University, Beijing Technology and Business University, Henan University of Economics and Law and Yingke Law Firm participated in the meeting online.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Wang Jinxi, Director of Institute of Legal Professional Ethics and Director of Research Center of Lawyers, China University of Political Science and Law, and delivered a speech by Professor Jiao Hongchang, Dean of School of Law, China University of Political Science and Law. Subsequently, Professor Chen Ruihua of Peking University gave a keynote speech. There were four major themes in this seminar, namely, legal professional ethics education, judicial reform and legal professional ethics, new liberal arts construction and legal professional ethics, new technological revolution and legal talent training.
The first part of legal professional ethics education was presided over by Dr. Yuan Ningning, deputy director of the Institute of Legal Professional Ethics, China University of Political Science and Law. Professor Wang Jinxi explained in detail the five paradigm shifts that may be realized in the research and education of legal professional ethics in the near future, and made clear the future direction of legal professional education and research. Professor Yuan Gang from China University of Political Science and Law introduced some issues related to the evaluation methods of legal professional ethics. Professor Qiao Jinru, director of Lawyers Development Research Center, Henan University of Economics and Law, accurately summarized the ethical principles and cognitive education of the legal professional community with "respecting the law and paying attention to equality". Wu Hongqi, a researcher from Peking University, shared his deep thoughts on the educational function of legal professional ethics and its realization.
In this part, Associate Professor Yin Bo gave a speech entitled "The virtual establishment of legal professional community and the separation of legal professional ethics". Firstly, he introduced some work carried out by Beijing Normal University in the field of legal professional ethics, including the establishment and construction of professional committees of legal ethics, the publication of academic achievements in legal professional ethics and the award-winning situation. Then, he discussed the virtual establishment of the legal professional community and the separation of legal professional ethics in China due to the differences in value orientation and behavior paradigm among professional subjects. Different professional subjects are not born in-laws or enemies, but their own families are based on the homogeneity of discourse. He systematically combed a series of normative documents on the relationship between judges and lawyers, and pointed out that both of them have obligations to the court. Combined with the recent phenomenon of different professional subjects training in the same room, he put forward some ways to promote mutual understanding and respect and enhance the cohesion of professional community.
